The environment is under increasing pressure due to climate change caused by pollution, poor waste management, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. It is imperative that we unite to protect the environment through preservation, renewable energy sources and recycling among other methods of preservation
The environmental benefits of restoration cannot be overstated. When vegetation returns to degraded and deforested lands, functioning ecosystems can return with them. Though it is very difficult to restore the full diversity of plants and animals present on undisturbed lands, restored landscapes can nevertheless offer increased wildlife habitat, the linkage of existing forests or wildlife corridors, the buffering of protected natural areas, and increased or improve flows of water, carbon and other nutrients through an ecosystem.
When land is preserved throughout a region the environmental benefits of protecting the unique habitat’s regional biodiversity of wildlife and vegetation. Wildlife and vegetation depend on undisturbed natural areas for food, shelter and reproduction. Trees for instance are considered the lungs of the earth, not only do they provide oxygen for us to breathe, but they clean the air of many pollutants harmful to humans.
